Wheaton to hold screenings

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

The Wheaton R-3 School District will hold preschool screenings for the 2012-13 school year on April 17 and 18. Screenings will be completed in the elementary school kindergarten rooms.

The DIAL III test will be used to screen children in the following areas: concepts, language and motor development. In addition, each child's vision, hearing and articulation will be screened.

Screenings will take at least one hour. Results will be shared with parents.

Children must be 3 years of age on or before July 31 in order to enter preschool next year. Screenings will also be offered for children who will enter kindergarten during the 2012-13 school year.

Parents should bring the child's birth certificate, Social Security card and immunization record to the screening. Parents will also be required to provide proof of residency.

For more information or to schedule a screening appointment, call 417-652-7240, extension 242.
