Blanche "Maxine" Wilson, 93, of Shell Knob, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, in Peachwood Manor.
She was born Jan. 19, 1919, in Marionville, the daughter of Alfred Sydney and Grace (Barton) Steele. On Sept. 25, 1941, in Galena, she was united in marriage to Onis Wilson, who preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1986. Also preceding her in death were her parents; her twin sister, Bernice Lorene Steele, on July 12, 1919; one daughter, Deleva "Dee" Walker on Jan. 27; and two brothers, Finis Steele and Manley Steele.
Survivors include: one son, Carl Alvin Wilson, of Springfield; one daughter, Linda Phillips and her husband, Norman, of Exeter; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grand-children; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
She graduated from high school at Crane. She received her teaching degree from Southwest Missouri State Teachers College. Most of her adult life was spent teaching throughout Barry County at Ozark School South of Aurora, Gaddis School and Jenkins School, where she retired in 1985. She attended Old Mountain View Church, Lohmer and more recently Blessing Heights Worship Center and Community Faith Chapel. For many years she was a Sunday School teacher and also was a pianist.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Community Faith Church, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Rex Mooneyham, Pastor Doyle Russell and Pastor Jack Freeman conducted the services. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery, Cassville.
