The Barry County Sheriff's Office has added a new feature, the current list of inmates, to its official website at www.barrycountysheriff.com.
"Having the roster online will allow the public to view booking photos and details for each inmate in the detention area as well as those released within the past 48 hours," said Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly. "The website is a good tool for the public.
"The website also has answers to frequently asked questions concerning reports and procedures for civil process and concealed carry permits," Epperly said.
The site features information on the Barry County Sheriff's Office jail and administrative staff, hot cases, criminal investigations, the Southwest Missouri Drug Task Force, the history of the sheriff's office and Barry County's most wanted criminals. The site also offers a current list of registered sex offenders living in Barry County.
"We have Barry County's most wanted list on there, and when people see them traveling around the area, they can call in and give us tips," Epperly continued. "The sex offender list allows residents to see who may be living next door to them. The sex offenders who do not register within the allotted time are subject to arrest."
The Barry County Sheriff's Office also works in conjuction with the Barry-Lawrence Chapter of Crime Stoppers, and information about that organization may also be found on the website.
"There are frequent updates to the site," Epperly said. "We're proud of it. It's a great tool for the public."
