Sophomore pilgrims

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

Silver Leaf Benefit Club has selected two area high school sophomores to represent the Cassville and Exeter school districts at the annual Sophomore Pilgrimage in Jefferson City on April 10. Pictured above, is: Cassville High School sophomore Kasey Durm, daughter of Shelby Durm and Dottie Kappes. Pictured below, is: Exeter High School sophomore Michael Brattin, son of Lucretia and Rick Brattin. Sophomore Pilgrims are selected on the basis of their leadership, citizenship and service. The purpose of the annual event is to increase knowledge of government, promote leadership and citizenship and provide a view of state government in action. After touring the state capitol, the students will attend a lunch with the top six elected officials and the chief justice of the Missouri Supreme Court. The Sophomore Pilgrimage is sponsored by the Missouri Federated Women's Clubs. Silver Leaf Benefit Club is a local member of the state organization.
