Woman injured in crash on Highway 37
A Monett woman was injured in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred on Highway 37 one mile south of Purdy at 10:52 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Charles J. Rupp, 51, of Purdy, pulled into the path of a 2003 Lexus RX330, driven by Janice A. Courdin, 47, of Monett, and struck the vehicle.
Courdin was taken by ambulance to Cox Monett Hospital with minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing a seat belt.
* A Verona man was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 8:19 p.m. on Sunday. The crash occurred on Highway 60 about two miles west of Monett when the driver of a 1996 Ford F150, Ronald D. Garner, 66, exited from a private driveway and drove into the path of a 2010 Mazda 3, driven by Rachelle J. Weatherly, 21, of Monett. Garner was taken to Freeman Hospital in Joplin with moderate injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt; Weatherly was.
* Jennifer L. Piccerillo, 39, of Jefferson, Md., was injured when she attempted to make a sharp turn in a 2007 Suzuki Quadrunner and the vehicle overturned. The wreck took place at 5:10 p.m. on Sunday on private property about one mile west of McDowell. Piccerillo was taken to Cox Hospital South in Springfield with moderate injuries.
* A Purdy woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash that took place at 5:20 p.m. on Sunday at Commercial Street and Business Highway 37 in Purdy. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, Maria J. Felipe, 20, of Purdy, crossed the center line while making a left turn and struck a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse, driven by Emily N. Berry, 24, of Fairway, head on. Felipe was taken by private vehicle to Cox Monett Hospital with minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt. Berry was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Joplin with minor injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt.
