Access to host grand opening

Access Family Care Medical and Dental Clinics will host a grand opening celebration at 4016 North Main in Cassville beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 6.

According to Dr. Don McBride, Access Family Care Clinics' chief executive officer, the new facility is more than six times the size of Access' 1,300-square-foot clinic in downtown Cassville. The new facility is 9,000 square feet.

The actual cost of the new clinic came in under budget at $1,804,994.35. A portion of the funding was provided by capital improvement programs under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA). Unused funds were returned.

The construction project, which was completed by RE Smith, from Joplin, was also financed using healthcare and facilities awards and operational funds. The project architect was Kyle Denham, of Patterson, Latimer, Jones, Brannon, Denham, Inc.

The medical clinic is dedicated in memory of Dr. James D. Warn, who served as the clinic's first medical director until his retirement.

"Warn and his wife, Virginia, were dedicated community builders," said McBride.

The dental clinic is dedicated in honor of Patricia Tichenor, former Barry County Health Department administrator who was a founding Access Family Care Board member.

The new Access Family Care Medical Clinic has created 12 new employment positions in Cassville.

Medical practitioners at the clinic include: Dr. Brian Basham and Dr. Victor Mangler, family practitioners; Dr. Cheryl Dalton, family nurse practitioner and director of patient centered medical home initiative; Pamela Whitlock, family nurse practitioner; and Theresa Smith, LCSW, behavioral health practitioner.

Dental practitioners are Dr. Allen Smith, Dr. Brian Revley and Stacy Fletcher, registered dental hygienist.

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly First Friday Coffee gathering at the new Access facility at 8 a.m. on April 6. A ribbon cutting is scheduled to be held at 8:30 a.m.
