Alice Faye Waldron, 77, formerly of Wheaton, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Culpepper Place in Springfield.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1935, in Cassville, the daughter of Neria and Maye Bell (Beaver) Pruitt. She grew up and received her education in Cassville graduating with the Class of 1953. On Aug. 24, 1957, in San Antonio, Texas, she was united in marriage to Melvin H. Waldron, Jr., who was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, with the U.S. Air Force. During her lifetime, she was employed in various food service establishments, with her last employment being with Wheaton Public Schools.

She was an active member in her church, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield.

Survivors include: one son, Melvin H. Waldron, III and his wife, Cindy; one grandson; two sisters, Mary Harrison, of Hot Springs, Ark., and Ella Mae Lowe, of Kearney; and one sister-in-law, Saundra Pruitt, of Bentonville, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin; and a brother, Gene Pruitt.

Funeral services were held Monday in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Pulaskifield, under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Rev. Paul McLoughlin conducted the services. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield.
