The Purdy community is gearing up for the Purdy Festival, Cars, Cows and Corn, taking place on Saturday, July 21.
For the inaugural event, the Purdy Festival Committee has scheduled a day filled with fun and activities sure to appeal to young and old alike.
Kids will have the opportunity to enjoy free carnival rides, water games, a pedal tractor pull and a petting zoo.
Older youth and adults can participate in bathtub races and a classic/antique car show.
A farmer's market will be set up in the air-conditioned north gym and will feature arts, crafts and homemade goods competitions. The air-conditioned south gym will be home to the Purdy Livestock Show.
The event will also feature a slow-pitch softball tournament and sand volleyball tournament, the Arch Angel Archers 3D Shoot-Out, and the Veteran Memorial dedication and reception. Bands will perform live music throughout the day.
The Purdy Fire Department will offer a barbecue chicken dinner.
The evening's entertainment will conclude with a concert in the park.
