Luria Dorisalee Brattin, 82, passed away Thursday, March 15 2012, at Mt. Vernon Place Care Center, Mt. Vernon.

She was born April 7, 1929, in Fairview, to Doris and Letha (Allman) Price. She married Cecil Brattin Aug. 22, 1947. He survives.

Additional survivors include: son, Price Brattin and wife, Jolinda, of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Kathy Arnold and husband, Roger, of Pierce City; one brother, Carroll Max Price and wife, Mary, of Joplin; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, J.C. Brattin and wife, Carolyn, of Exeter.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one daughter, Leanne Brattin.

She attended Fairview School and graduated in 1947 as class valedictorian. They made their home in Wheaton, and Dorisalee worked by Cecil's side as a bookkeeper and secretary in their auto repair business, Wheaton Motor Supply.

She was a member of Wheaton Southern Baptist Church, serving as treasurer and children's Sunday school teacher. She was on the founding committee for the Wheaton Senior Citizens Housing Development and the organizational committee for the Wheaton Centennial Celebration. She served many years as a board member and treasurer for BLARC, the Barry/Lawrence County organization.

Funeral services were held Monday at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton, with Pastor Richard Buck and Pastor Paul Wahlert officiating. Burial was at Dice Cemetery Fairview. Contributions may be made to Wheaton Southern Baptist Church Building Fund in her memory.
