Lady Eagle to compete in national 3-point contest

Roller was identified by Intersport, Maxpreps.com and CBS Sports and is only one of eight high school basketball players selected to participate in the competition that will be held at the Alario Center on March 30, and will be aired on CBS on Sunday, April 1, at 4:30 p.m.

"I am excited and honored," said Roller. "I look forward to representing the school and trying to win this competition."

In her four years as a player, she has helped Purdy Lady Eagles basketball achieve a 93-24 overall record and put the town of Purdy on the basketball map.

During Roller's tenure the Lady Eagles won three conference titles, 2 district championships and a Class 2 state championship in 2011.

Roller has been a two-time All-State first team selection and will most likely achieve that honor again this season along with Ozark 7 Conference Most Valuable Player.

Roller is Missouri's most prolific 3-point shooter and scored 2,392 points in her four-year career at Purdy. Roller averaged 20.4 points, 5.1 assists and 2.5 steals per game during her career and finished her career with a free-throw percentage of 79.8 and 3-point percentage of 38.7.

She is ranked in the state's top 100 all-time scorers and made at least one 3-pointer in 37 consecutive games, which is the second best mark in the state's history.

Other notable state achievements include:

* Fourth all-time with 3.73 made 3-pointers per game in a season.

* Second all-time with an average of four made 3-pointers per game in a single season.

* Tied for the state record for most 3-pointers made in a quarter with five.

* Tied for the state record in free-throw percentage going 16 for 16 from the line against Fair Grove.

* Tied for eighth with most points in a quarter with 20.

* Most made 3-pointers with 319 in a career surpassing Michelle Holman, of Dadeville (285).

* 120 made 3-pointers in a single season tied Tatum Thurman, of Atlanta, for the state record.

* Averaged 2.75 made 3-pointers per game for a career passing Jenny Ghidoni, of Kearney 2.74.

Athletics are not the only place where Roller succeeds. In the classroom, Roller carries a 4.22 grade point average and is ranked

near the top of her class at Purdy.

Earlier this year, Roller signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb., for Chris Kielsmeier which is currently the number one team in the nation at the NCAA Division II level.
