The Wheaton R-3 School District will hold kindergarten screenings from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20 and Wednesday, March 21. Screenings will be held in the kindergarten rooms.
Children who will be 5 years of age on or before July 31 must be screened before they can be enrolled to attend kindergarten during the 2012-13 school year.
The DIAL 3 test will be used to screen children in the following areas: concepts, language and motor development. Each child's vision, hearing and articulation will also be assessed. Screenings will take at least one hour to complete. Results will be shared with parents.
To schedule a screening appointment, call 417-652-7240, extension 222 or 242.
Parents should bring their child's birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization records and proof of residency to the screening.
