Arthur L. Eagan, 82, of Washburn, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the Cassville Health Care and Rehab in Cassville. He was born on Dec. 13, 1929, in Beaver, Okla., son of Emery and Bessie (Bryan) Eagan. In 1973, he retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service, and moved to Washburn from Melvin, Kan. He attended the Church of God in Granby, and was a member of the Washburn Chamber of Commerce. He had a farming operation, which included dairy and poultry houses. He also owned and operated Eagan's Supply in Washburn since 1997.
He married Betty Shulse on July 21, 1962, in Urich, and she survives.
Additional survivors include: four sons, Kenneth Eagan, Kirby Eagan, and Keith Eagan, and his wife Kit, all of Washburn, and Kevin Eagan, and his wife, Becky, of Exeter; one daughter, Sherri Leach and her husband, Dennis, of Monett; seven grandchildren; and four brothers, Raymond Eagan, Wilfred Eagan, Martin Eagan and Charles Eagan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Eagan.
Services were held Monday at the White Funeral Home in Cassville, with Rev. Glenn Erwin officiating. Burial followed at Hickman Cemetery in Washburn.
