Everett "Paul" Richards, of Bellingham, Wash., born January 7, 1924, in Berryville, Ark., made last call before closing on Saturday, March 3, 2012. He formerly lived in Eagle Rock. Crackerjack welder, daring aviator, wielder of well-honed knives, classic mixologist, Orwood Tract fire marshal, pool shark and driving instructor, he piloted award-winning photographer Russ Reed to where the news was breaking, wiped footballs on the sidelines for John Madden, played golf in Berkeley with Billy Martin, and walked around the track at Pleasanton with Eddie Arcaro. We will miss his wry sense of humor, the twinkle in his blue eyes, and his million-dollar smile. Please share your memories on-line at www.sigsfuneralservices.com
Paul left behind his daughter, Carol Richards (Lindquist); granddaughters Evah Thurman and Rebecca Collins Brown; great-grandchildren Lillian (Lily) Thurman, Jakob Thurman, and Olivia Baker Brown; his cat, Ansel Jackson, and numerous cousins from Washington to New York.
