Jerry Lee Hammers, 69, of Exeter, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in his home.

He was born March 6, 1943, in Galena, the son of Louis and Crystal (Smith) Hammers. On June 20, 1964, in Crane, he was united in marriage to Myrna Wilson, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Anthony Hammers and his wife, Christine, of Exeter; five grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Horn, of Reeds Spring; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack and Thelma Tolbert, of Cape Fair, and Jim and Michiko "June" Wilson, of Cape Fair.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

He received his education at Reeds Spring, where he graduated from high school. From 1964 until 1984, he lived in Kingman, Ariz. He had worked for Citizens Utility Phone Company and was a cattle farmer his entire life.

Funeral services were held Saturday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Mark Hall conducted the services. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
