The Holiday Island Singers, directed by Kerry Hays, of Cassville, will perform at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, at the Pea Ridge Military Park Visitor's Center in Pea Ridge, Ark., for the Sesquicentennial (150th) Commemoration of the Battle of Pea Ridge.

"Two members of the chorale, Jackie Phillips and Joanna Hall, wrote the lyrics to an original song that we will be performing," said Hays. "The music was commissioned from Aaron Hays. The song is very specific in reference to the Elkhorn Tavern and other aspects of the battle."

The Holiday Island Singers includes 52 members, who range in age from 39 to 90. Members are from southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas. The choir has been featured on Ozarks Harvest Radio.

Members of the Ozarks Chorale, of Eureka Springs, Ark., will also join in the performance.

Other events taking place at the 150th anniversary event include soldier encampments, battlefield talks and guided hikes, artillery and rifle firing demonstrations. A memorial service will take place on Saturday afternoon, and a battlefield luminary is scheduled for Saturday evening.

All park events will cost the regular park admission of $5 per adult or $10 per vehicle.

The Visitor's Center is located at 15930 Highway 62 East in Garfield, Ark.
