Robert "Bob" Edwin Alred, 76, of Willard, passed away on Tuesday, March 06, 2012, at Cox Walnut Lawn, in Springfield. He was born on Jan. 25, 1936, in Pawhuska, Okla., son of Arthur Edwin and Ruth Marie (Conner) Alred.
He graduated from Central High School, in Tulsa, Okla. On March 30, 1957, he was united in marriage to Martha Ann Root, in Tulsa, Okla., who survives. In 1959, he started his career in the oil business, and worked and traveled for several companies. After 42 years in the oil business, he retired and moved to Shell Knob, were they resided from 1990 to 2008 at which time they moved to Willard. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Shell Knob and attended the Willard Community Christian Church, Willard.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Douglas Alred and his wife, Judie, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and Greg Alred, and his wife, Kristi, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Shayla Sleeth and her husband, Chris, of Springfield; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Willard Community Christian Church, Willard. Officiating will be Pastor Dakota Rush and Pastor Jerry Jones. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Okla.
