Johnnie Eggleston, 68, of Seligman, passed away on March 2, 2012, at his home. He was born on Oct. 19, 1943, son of Eura and Marion (Snooks) Eggleston in Seligman. He was baptized as a child at the Rock Springs Church. He was a life-long resident of Seligman and graduated from Southwest High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Doris Ann Corn, on Nov. 24, 1961. He owned and operated several businesses through the years in Seligman. He was previous owner of the Highway 37 Flea Market in Seligman. He was most known for his work as a land developer, owning and operating J&J Construction and Eggleston Builders. He was past president of the Seligman Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include: his wife, Doris Eggleston, of Seligman; one son, Darren Lee Eggleston, and his wife, Christy Lee, of Seligman; two daughters, Leigh Ann Clifton, and her husband, Michael Ray, of Washburn, and Kelley Elizabeth Brooks, of Seligman; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry James Eggleston, of Deep Water; and two sisters, Nelda Jean Reed, of Rolla, and Emalea Reed, of Lawrence, Kan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, June Still, and one grandson, Dillan Caleb Brooks.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 2 p.m. at Kings Cemetery, Seligman.
