Robert Otho "Bob" Cannon, Jr., 56, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, Cassville.
He was born Nov. 6, 1955, in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Robert Otho, Sr. and Gladys May (Stephens) Cannon. On July 10, 1986, in Miami, Okla., he was united in marriage to Susan Kae Bradley, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two daughters, Paula Joan Sherwood and her husband, Rob, of Joplin, and Allison Mae Johnson and her husband, Josh, of Cassville; one sister, Roberta Logan and her husband, Ray, of Portland, Ore.; and five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his step-father, Gilbert M. Wallace, who raised Bob from the age of 8, after the death of his father.
He moved from California to Missouri with his family at a young age. He received his elementary education at Neosho and then they moved to Oklahoma, where he graduated from Enid High School. He attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin. For 35 years, he was employed for MoDOT. Fifteen years ago, he moved from Spring City, to Shell Knob to make his home. He was a member of Central Crossing Masonic Lodge #674 and the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine and in 1998, became an active member of the Shell Knob Shrine Club.
Funeral services were held Sunday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Lonnie Stockton conducted the services. Burial was at Powers Cemetery, near Diamond.
