Martha Plumlee, 88, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, at her residence in Wheaton. She was born on May 5, 1923, in Goodman daughter of Randolph and Nellie (Hughes) McGarrah. She was a life-long Rocky Comfort area resident and was a 1941 graduate of Rocky Comfort High School. She was a homemaker and helped her husband on their farm. She was a member of the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Rocky Comfort. She married Keete Plumlee on Aug. 16, 1942, in Bentonville, Ark. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1996.

Survivors include: one son, Lonnie Plumlee and his wife, Carol, of Neosho; one daughter, Sandra Easter, of Rocky Comfort; four granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil McGarrah, and his wife Barbara, of Joplin; one sister, Gladys Carlin and her husband George, of Nixa; and two sisters-in-law, Bona Woods, of Neosho, and Kathleen McGarrah, of Stella.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alva, Elmer and Joe McGarrah, and one sister, Hazel Lawson.

Funeral service were held today (Wednesday) at the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Wheaton, with her nephew Dr. Jerry Carlin officiating. Burial followed in Union Cemetery in Stella.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church and entrusted to the White Funeral Home in Cassville.
