Nellie Fern "Pound" Cavner, 97, Shell Knob, passed away on Feb. 29, 2012.

She was born Dec. 30, 1914, in Brownell, Kan., daughter of Thornton and Mary Elizabeth Pound. She graduated from high school at Garden City, Kan. She was a Christian. She married Walter (Bud) Cavner on Feb 26, 1941, at Lakin, Kan.

They retired and moved to Knob Hill Acres in Shell Knob in 1971. She was a charter member and a very active member of First Christian Church of Shell Knob.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a stepson, Larry Cavner; two sisters, Myrtle Liedtke and Pearl Boaz; and two brothers, Robert Pound and Ernest Pound.

She resided at Red Rose Health & Rehab in Cassville since June 2004. Funeral services were held Friday in Shell Knob First Christian Church, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Burial was at Painter Cemetery in Shell Knob.
