Monett man to serve 26 years for robbery
A Monett man will spend 26 years in prison for his role in the robbery of an ATM at the Bank of America in Monett on Dec. 26, 2010, and a break-in at the Monett Area Workshop on Jan. 1, 2011.
Ronald Scott Adams was sentenced to 12 years for robbery in the first degree, seven years for burglary in the second degree and seven years for assault in the second degree.
The sentence was handed down in Barry County Circuit Court. Adams will be required to serve a minimum of 85 percent of his sentence for the crimes.
In a separate case, Glenn Shannon Bergesch, of Monett, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for burglary in the second degree and seven years in prison for property damage in the first degree and resisting arrest after violating the conditions of his probation.
The cases against Adams and Bergesch were both investigated by the Monett Police Department and prosecuted by Barry County Prosecutor Johnnie Cox.
