The first day of the course will be held in the high school commons area from 8 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 10. Students will complete a practice ACT test under actual testing conditions.
Participants will meet again at the library on Friday, March 23. A review of the practice test and tutoring and review of all four ACT test areas will be conducted from 8:10 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
The third session will be held at the library from 8:10 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. on Thursday, April 12. Students will grade and discuss the assigned practice exercises and continue the ACT review in their workbooks.
On Saturday, April 14, course participants will complete the official ACT test. Students must register and pay for the exam by March 9. The cost is $34. Juniors and seniors who qualify for free or reduced lunchs can obtain fee waivers in the high school counselors' office.
ACT registration packets are available in the counselors' office, but registration must be completed by the individual student with his or her parents or guardians. Registration can be completed online at www.actstudent.org.
Students interested in taking part in the ACT review course must register and pay the course fee by Monday, Feb. 27. Registration can be completed in the counselors' office.
The course is limited to the first 25 CHS students who register. Students who participated in a previous ACT review class are not eligible to take part in this course.
