SUPPORT GROUP: Anyone who is concerned about a friend's or loved one's drinking is invited to attend the Cassville Al-Anon Family Group, which meets at 8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Cassville.

DANCE: The Seligman Lions Club will host a dance at the Seligman Community Building at 7 p.m. Musical entertainment will be provided by Frosty Garland and the Road Hogs. For more information, call 846-5355.

SPECIAL EVENT: A public pre-election tabulation test of the electronic tabulating equipment will be held in the county clerk's office at 9 a.m. The test will be performed in preparation for the Feb. 7 presidential primary election.

FUN AND GAMES: The Cassville Senior Center will host fun and games at 12:30 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENT: The Cassville Democrat will host the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce's First Friday Coffee event from 8 to 8:45 a.m. All chamber members are encouraged to attend.


Saturday, Feb. 4

SPECIAL EVENT: The 2012 Southwest Academic Challenge will be held at Southwest Middle School beginning at 9:15 a.m. For more information, call Southwest academic coach Steve Voyak at 479-366-8457.

DANCE: The Cassville Senior Center will host a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is $4. Proceeds benefit the center.

FUNDRAISER: The Central Crossing First Responders and Firefighters will host their annual chili and soup fest fundraiser at the Viola/Shell Knob Community Building from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Proceeds will be used to purchase new equipment. For more information, call 417-830-2802.

FUNDRAISER: The Fairview Volunteer Fire Department will host a vegetable soup and chili supper at the Hammons Center in Fairview at 5 p.m. Donations will be accepted.

RIBBON CUTTING: The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at Haven of the Ozarks' new Barbara Williams Training Center at 11:30 a.m. All chamber members are invited to attend.
