Elsie Mae Renkoski, 82, of Purdy, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012.
She was born April 12, 1929, in Gallatin, the daughter of Harley and Mabel (Graham) Phillips. On Oct. 22, 1949, in Kansas City, Kan., she was united in marriage to Lawrence Henry Renkoski, and to this union 12 children were born.
Survivors include: her children, Bud Renkoski, of Purdy, Nancy Cahalan, of Diamond, Rita Beckham, of Diamond, Ron Renkoski, of Madison, Wis., Dennis Renkoski, of Purdy, David Renkoski, of Springfield, Rose Mills, of Purdy, Julie Cook, of Cleveland, Okla., Becky Goostree, of Rocky Comfort, Joe Renkoski, of Stark City, Jim Renkoski, of Republic, and Ed Renkoski of Purdy; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Minnie (Irene) Parr and Colene Taylor.
She received her education in Kansas City, where she graduated from high school. She then continued her education and graduated from SMS. As a teenager, she began working for MA Bell Phone Company in Kansas City, remaining there five years. For 20 years, she was assistant librarian at Crowder College.
Funeral services were held Saturday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Scott Mitchell conducted the services. Burial was at Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Wheaton.
