Johnny O'Dell Reid peacefully departed this life on Friday, January 27, 2012, at his home in Cassville, Missouri, at the age of seventy six.

Johnny was born on December 1, 1935, in Doniphan, Missouri, the third child of Don Van Reid and Mabel Mae Sharum Reid. On December 28, 1952, Johnny married Octava Marie Tittle and to this union came four children, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Johnny and Marie recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

Johnny, Marie and family moved from Texas to Cassville in 1967, where they owned and operated Reid Hardware. Johnny later built homes and investment properties and served as a realtor. Johnny served his community as a Cassville R-4 District school board member and President of the Cassville Athletic Booster Club. Johnny and Marie subsequently returned to Texas in the 1980s, where they lived before returning home to Cassville to retire.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Marie; children, John and wife Susan Reid, of Republic, MO, Janet and husband Jim Smith, of Shell Knob, MO, Karen and husband Rudy LaBombarda, of Danville, CA, and Steve and wife Thelma Reid, of Cassville; grandchildren, John and wife Sharon Reid, Sarah Reid, Bryan Reid, Anna and husband Dave Barrett, Michael Miller, Alexa LaBombarda, Lauren LaBombarda, Andrew LaBombarda, Jacob LaBombarda, Alex Reid and Ashley Reid; great-grandchildren, Zach Barrett, Zander Barrett, Zain Barrett, John Reid, Norah Reid and Memphis Banks; and brothers, Charles Reid and Jerry Reid. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Don Reid and Jerome Reid.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, at Community Faith Church in Cassville, with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville. Reverend Doyle Russell will conduct the service and Johnny's grandsons will honor their grandfather by serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends during visitation at the Fohn Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Johnny's memory to the building fund of Community Faith Church of Cassville.
