SW players earn academic honors

Seven Southwest volleyball players were named to the Academic All-State team. The girls needed a 3.6 grade point average to qualify.

Juniors Taylor Mettlach, Atisha Boudreau, Jerri Lynn Henry and Megan Light, Sharllana Gonzales and sophomores Montana Hendrix and Lauren Mitchell were all recognized.

As a team, Southwest has a 3.7 cumulative GPA, according to Coach Steve Voyak. Of the 10 players on the varsity squad, the Lady Trojans earned 50 A's, 15 B's and five C's for first semester.
