Area residents will have the opportunity to cast absentee ballots for the Feb. 7 presidential primary election at the Barry County Clerk's office from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 4.
Absentee voting will continue through Monday, Feb. 6. Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individuals must present one form of identification, such as a driver's license or a voter registration card, in order to vote.
Area residents who are unable to vote absentee in person can request an absentee ballot by mail. Written requests should be mailed to Gary Youngblood at 700 Main St., Suite 2, Cassville MO 65625 or faxed to 417-847-5311.
Requests must include the following information: the date of the election; the voter's name, physical address, mailing address, phone number and date of birth; the last four digits of the voter's Social Security number; the reason for voting absentee; and the voter's signature.
In a primary election, voters must choose their party ballot. Individuals may choose among Republican, Democrat and Libertarian.
Ballots must be requested by Wednesday, Feb. 1.
