Rev. Georgie Alvin "G.A." Brannan, 98, of Seligman, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, in Cox-Monett Hospital, Monett.

He was born May 25, 1913, in Seligman, the son of George and Eliza (Oakley) Brannan. On July 11, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was united in marriage to Mildred Gladys Johnson, who preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 2010. Also preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers; one sister; a son-in-law; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include: two sons, Rev. Harold Brannan and his wife, Dorothy, of Claremore, Okla., and Rev. Ronald Brannan and his wife, Laura, of Madill, Okla.; one daughter, Darlene Hendrix, of Seligman; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great- grandchildren.

He received his education at a rural school between Washburn and Seligman. He was a long- time Assembly of God minister and was a member of OK Assembly of God Church at Washburn. Much of his life was spent in Oklahoma. He returned to Seligman 17 years ago.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at OK Assembly of God Church, Washburn, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Harold Brannan and Rev. Ron Brannan conducted the services. Burial was at King Cemetery, Seligman.
