Doris Moore, 80, of Cassville, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was born on Nov. 27, 1931, in West Frankfort, Ill., to Elijah and Eva (Gasty) Gifford.
She graduated from West Frankfort Community High School, in Frankfort, Ill. Four days after graduating, she and her twin sister, Deloris, traveled to St. Louis, where Doris started her career working for G.E. Lamp Company and remained with the company for 23 years. On Dec. 18, 1975, she was united in marriage to E.J. Moore in Clayton. In 1977, they moved to Exeter. She began working for Jumping Jacks in Monett in March 1978 and worked threre until the company closed. She attended Church of Christ in Exeter.
Survivors include: three sisters, Deloris Clawitter, of Los Angeles, Calif., Flossie Horn, of Tampa, Fla., and Marie McLure; and one brother, Merl Walker, of Frankfort, Ill. In addition to her parents, and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Gladis Drew.
Graveside services were held on Monday at the Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
