CHS girls finish fourth in tourney
The Cassville Lady Wildcats went 1-2 at the Lady Comet Invitational at Marionville last week, ending with a loss to Pleasant Hope in the third place game on Saturday.
"It was a tough tournament with some really good teams, and I thought our kids competed well," said Cassville's Chris Shore.
The Lady Wildcats knocked off Billings on Tuesday night, 65-37, in a game that saw nine different players score for Cassville.
Emily Speakman led the scoring column with 17, and both Raeghan Blisard and Kennadi Howard reached double figures with 14 and 12, respectively.
Cassville then fell to host Marionville on Thursday in a close game, 47-41. Howard led the Lady Wildcats in that contest with 16, and Jaime Everett added 12.
Then on Saturday, the Lady Wildcats dropped a 54-46 decision to Pleasant Hope in the third place game.
Against Pleasant Hope, the Lady Wildcats fell behind 26-17 at halftime and could never catch up, despite Speakman's 25-point night.
