Rodney "Rod" Lee Oliver, 62, of Exeter, died at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012.
He was born in Price, Utah, Sept. 28, 1949, the son of Vernell Charles and Norma Rue (Safley) Oliver.
Survivors include: his mother, Norma Oliver, of Purdy; one daughter, Malisa Every and her husband, Cregg, of Wellington, Utah; three brothers, Louis Oliver and his wife, Carol, of Fruitland, Idaho, Sidney "Sid" Oliver and his wife, Bonnie, of Fairview, and Cody Oliver and his wife, Jenny, of Indiana; two sisters, Sherry Alger and her husband, Tom, of Fairview, and Brenda Oliver, of Purdy; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father. He grew up and received his education in Price, Utah. He was a cattle farmer. In 1987, he moved from Wellington, Utah, to Barry County to make his home. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cassville.
Funeral services with military honors were Monday in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cassville, under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. President Travis Larson conducted the services. Burial was at Goodnight Cemetery, Purdy.
