Jerauld R. Fulton, 95, of Shell Knob, passed away on Jan. 12, 2012. He was born on March 18, 1916, in New Virginia, Iowa. In 1935, he graduated from East High School in Des Moines, Iowa. On Jan. 19, 1935, in Bethany, he was united in marriage to Wilma C. (Exline) Fulton. In 1943, he entered the U.S. Navy where he served aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown and was honorably discharged in 1945. After retiring in 1982, he became a very active member in the community. He was the director of the Shell Knob Civil Defense, the senior commander at the VFW of Shell Knob, he was the vice president of the Shell Knob Alliance of Churches, and he was also a member of the Child Advocacy Council of Barry County. He was a member of the Grace Community Fellowship Church, Shell Knob.

Survivors include: his son, Jerry Fulton, of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; one sister, Ruth E. Overton, of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Wilma C. Fulton and his parents Ray and Gertrude Fulton.

Memorial services were held today (Wednesday) at the Grace Community Fellowship Church in Shell Knob, with Pastor Jonathan Brobston officiating. Military Funeral Honors will be conducted by the VFW Post #2203 of Shell Knob.
