SK Chamber releases new vacation guide

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

The Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce has released the 2012 Shell Knob/Table Rock Lake Vacation and Relocation Guide, a 48-page color booklet that offers information for visitors and area residents.

"Each year, quite a bit of effort goes into this, our main promotional publication," said Sheila House, Shell Knob Chamber executive director. "For 2012, not only are all new photos included from local residents and our many visitors, but we have several new articles.

"The fishing article was rewritten by our fishing report author, Tony Noland," said House. "Long-time Shell Knob resident Jessie Johnson contributed her considerable writing talents in the new 'welcome' article as well as the 'Fall in Love with Shell Knob in Any Season' section."

The new publication also offers the special section "Wild Shell Knob," which was written by Nancy Rochovansky, a local naturalist and business owner.

The Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce will distribute thousands of 2012 guides at boat, sport and travel shows in Kansas City, St. Louis and Wichita, Kan., over the next two months.

The brochure, which is supported by chamber member advertisers, will also be available at Missouri tourism centers and local businesses and distributed by mail through requests made online at

Free copies of the 2012 Shell Knob/Table Rock Lake Vacation and Relocation Guide are available at the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce Office.

  • That is probably one of the most attractive vacation guides I've ever seen. Until I saw this post I hadn't ever heard of Shell Knob. But just looking at the cover of that guide makes me want to go there. Whoever designed this did a great job! How can I get a copy of it? I would like to look through and see if it's a place i really would like to visit.
