The Exeter City Council approved a preventative maintenance contract with Environline at the council's regularly scheduled meeting on Dec. 13, 2011.
The contract authorizes Environline to visit the city twice a year to inspect and repair the pumps and other equipment located at the lift station. The maintenance agreement will cost the city $1,500 per year.
In addition to receiving regular maintenance, the city will receive a 40 percent discount on pump replacements and a 20 percent discount on the replacement of miscellaneous parts.
In other business, the Exeter City Council:
* Reviewed the bank balances, voted to pay the November 2011 bills as presented and approved the bank reconciliation.
* Awarded performance bonuses to several city employees.
* Voted to begin charging a $300 fee and a $50 deposit for the installation of a new meter.
