Dale Fohn, 86, of Lebanon, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. He was born Sept. 15, 1925, in Eldridge, the son of Denzil and Maggie Waterman Fohn.

He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon.

On Oct. 11, 1947, he was united in marriage with Nina Ruth Forgey and to this union was born four children, all surviving.

He served in the United States Navy for four years until his honorable discharge. He then began his employment with the Lebanon Post Office, where he remained for 32 years. He also served as Laclede County treasurer for four years.

He was a sports enthusiast. He coached many Little League teams through the years and recently was inducted into the Lebanon Area Sports Hall of Fame.

survivors include: his wife, Nina Ruth, of the home; one son, Jimmie Dale Fohn and his wife, Janice, of Cassville; three daughters, Judy Benage and her husband, J.C., of Lebanon, Jeannie Carlson and her husband, Krist, and Janie Mitchell, all of Springfield; one brother, Glen Russell Fohn and his wife, Joetta, of Lebanon; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Paula Marie Darnell.

Funeral services were held Monday at Shadel's Colonial Chapel in Lebanon with Rev. Gary Longenecker officiating. Entombment was at Mt. Rose Mausoleum.
