Carroll Duane Zilliox, 78, of Hepler, Kan., died at 6:20 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at his residence in Hepler.

He was born Feb. 8, 1933 at Wyandotte, Okla., the son of John Henry and Flossie Leona (Passley) Zilliox. He grew up and attended schools in Cassville.

He married Jeraldine Edwina Catino on Dec. 31, 1961, in Wichita, Kan. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2010.

They lived at Wichita where he was a car salesman. They moved to Exeter in 1975, before moving to Hepler, Kan., in 1996. He was a truck driver, and later he enjoyed hobby farming and raising cattle. He also enjoyed fishing and being with his family.

Survivors include: a son, Carroll Edward "Ed" Zilliox and his companion, Lois, of Hepler, Kan.; grandchildren, Heidi Marie, Megan, Raymond, Erin, and Gretchen; great-grandchildren, Triston and Bradon; and a sister, Gwen Harris, of Bartlesville, Okla.

Funeral services will be at noon on Thursday at the Hepler Community Building in Hepler, Kan., with Rev. Pauline Clugston officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the Community Building. Burial will be at the Hepler Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Mirza Shrine and these may be left at the Hepler Community Building or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, KS 66743.
