Genevieve Black, 88, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.

She was born June 27, 1923, in Rocky Comfort, the daughter of Martin E. and Lula (Lamberson) McClure. On March 5, 1942, in Monett, she was united in marriage to William H. Black, who preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1988. Also preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include: two daughters, Marsha Moore, of Cassville, and Gailene Jackson, of Columbia; one son, Conard Black, of Cassville; six grandsons; one granddaughter; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She grew up and received her education at Rocky Comfort, where she graduated from high school. She was a life-long resident of this area and was a homemaker. Since 1946, she had made her home in Cassville. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Cassville.

Funeral services were held Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. James Weaver conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
