Fulfilling a dream

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

Sandy Cullers, of Cassville, had the opportunity to help decorate the Phoenix Decorating Company floats for the 123rd annual Rose Parade this year. Cullers worked as a member of the Lutheran Hour Petal Pushers, which coordinates around 4,000 volunteers for several floats. Cullers visited Pasadena, Calif., for four days in December to help decorate the floats. "Participating in the Rose Parade has always been a part of my bucket list," said Cullers. "My brother in California died in November, and I knew I had to travel there to take care of his affairs, so I looked online in mid December and found a volunteer opportunity that allows me to fulfill my dream of being involved in the parade." A full story will appear in an upcoming issue of the Cassville Democrat.
