Traffic fines can be paid online

Individuals using the online payment service will need their citation number, driver's license number, contact information and the amount of the fine.

The following fines can be paid on-line: improper registration, $105; display plates of another, $155; no operator's license, $180; expired license, six months or less, $130; no operator's license on person, $105; failure to stop at a stop sign or signal, $80; seat belt violation, $10; no child restraint, $130; defective equipment, $80; failure to maintain lane, $80; and no insurance, $180.

Speeding tickets can also be paid through the Traffic Payment website. Drivers who are cited for going 10 miles over the limit are charged $90. Other speeding violations include: 11 to 15 miles over speed limit, $115; 16 to 20 miles over speed limit, $140; and 21 to 25 miles over speed limit, $165.

Drivers who are cited for driving 26 miles per hour over the speed limit must appear in court. Individuals who receive a citation in relation to a traffic crash and those with intermediate licenses must also appear in court and are ineligible for online or phone payment services.

Individuals without internet service can pay fines by calling 1-800-444-1187. Bilingual operators are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Although the Cassville municipal court is notified when payments are made online or by telephone, individuals are encouraged to keep their online receipt or telephone confirmation number with them as proof of payment.
