Patrol needs assistance in hit-and-run case

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is seeking assistance from the public to solve a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.

The crash occurred at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 when Tommy G. Rickman, 44, of Purdy, was struck by the driver of a black pickup truck as he was walking on Business Highway 37 about two miles north of Cassville. Rickman was later pronounced dead at St. John's Hospital-Cassville.

Troopers are trying to locate the driver of a black Ford or Chevrolet crew cab pickup truck that was seen traveling north on Business 37 near the time of the crash. The year of the vehicle is not known.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is seeking assistance in identifying the driver and the vehicle involved in the crash.
