Mary Elizabeth (Van Derhoef) Drummy, 90, of Monett (formerly of West Plains) passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at Lacoba Nursing Center in Monett. She was born Oct. 25, 1921, the daughter of the late Arch and Gracie (Coats) Van Derhoef. She was united in marriage on July 11, 1974, to John Drummy, he preceded her in death in 1986.

She was a retired teacher of the first grade at West Plains School district, a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Assoc., Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and Red Hatters. She was of Methodist faith.

Survivors include: one brother, Floyd Van Derhoef, of Monett; three nephews: Mike Van Derhoef, of Eagle Rock, Tom Van Derhoef, of Pioneer, and Bill Van Derhoef, of Strafford; and one niece, Nancy Cook, of Eagle Rock.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Arch and Gracie; husband John; one brother, Malcom Kirk Van Derhoef; and one sister, Syble (Van Derhoef) Webb.

A memorial service will be held when the dogwood trees begin to bloom at the Van Derhoef State Memorial Forrest near West Plains.

Memorial donations may be made to the Monett Senior Citizens Center in Monett.
