Area community members are invited to make a difference this holiday season by taking part in Community Blood Center of the Ozarks' (CBCO) Stop and Give campaign.
The campaign encourages area residents to help build the community blood supply during a season when blood donations typically decrease by 20 percent. It is also designed to encourage individuals to drive safely during the holiday season.
Each donor who participates in the Stop and Give Blood Drive this month will receive a festive holiday T-shirt and auto window cling.
CBCO will hold three blood drive events in Barry County over the next week. The first event is scheduled to be held at the St. John's Hospital-Cassville administrative offices on Gravel Street from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19.
A blood drive will also be held at EFCO in Monett from 1:30 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20. The main plant is located at 1000 County Rd. Another event will be held at Cox Monett Hospital, located at 801 N. Lincoln, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
According to CBCO, 60,000 people are injured in auto crashes in the Ozarks each year. Blood donations made at CBCO events help many of those individuals recooperate.
