Karen Lea Fosse, 61, of Washburn, passed away in her home on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011. She was born in Houston, Texas, on Aug. 10, 1950, to Edward Corson and Mary Elizabeth (Strasding) Corson. She graduated from high school in Houston, Texas, and went on to receive her bachelor of science degree at Missouri Southern in Joplin. She was united in marriage to Taylor Fosse on May 11, 1979, in Washburn. She was a teacher in the elementary and secondary education field for 19 years. She taught in Wheaton, Exeter, Jenkins, Jane and McDonald County in Missouri and in Springdale, Ark. Every summer for the past nine years, she traveled to Hawaii and taught special education.
Survivors include: her husband of 31 years, Taylor, of Washburn; one daughter, Tacy Fosse Sierra, and her husband, Cui, of Neosho; three sons, Kaylor Fosse, of Washburn, Chad Fosse and his wife, Lindsey, of Washburn, and Matthew Fosse, and his wife, Desere, of Rogers, Ark.; her father, Edward Corson, of Payson, Ariz.; her mother, Mary Corson, of Rogers, Ark.; one sister, Diane Snead, of Aurora, Colo.; three brothers, Mark Corson, of Arizona, Steve Corson, of Utah, and Kendrick Francis; and seven grandchildren. After being told that her daughter had died, Karen's mother passed away quietly in Rogers, Ark.
Friends of Karen will hold a memorial benefit at Chelsea's in Eureka Springs, Ark., on Dec. 10 at noon.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home.
