The Cassville Lady Wildcats opened up the 2011-12 season by competing in the Blue Eye Tournament this past week.
The Cassville squad fell to Spokane 40-33 in the tournament's first game and then rallied to down Hollister 57-54 in the second round of play. The Lady Wildcats eventually lost to Reeds Spring 30-24 in the tourney's final game.
Cassville scoring leaders for the three games combined were: Emily Speakman, 37 points; Jaime Everett, 27 points; Kennadi Howard, 19 points; Cari Vollenweider, 7 points; Raeghan Blisard, 6 points; and Katelyn Pitts, 4 points.
The Lady Wildcats will host rival Monett on Thursday night and then travel to Reeds Spring on Monday.
