Christmas Show to be offered Dec. 9 and 10

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will host the third annual Christmas Show at the Crowder College Cassville Campus Auditorium on Friday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 10. Both performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.

"The musicians have worked hard to put a twist on the standard Christmas songs you are used to hearing," said Greg Beck, Christmas Show director. "When is the last time you heard a Christmas song by Elton John? We are also doing a song by the group Rubberband out of Scotland. We are excited to have lots of variety."

The Cassville High School music department will offer pre-show entertainment beginning at 7 p.m. each night.

The Christmas Show, which is scheduled to run two and a half hours with a 20-minute intermission, will feature the HomeTown Sound and the RedHots. Several talented community members will also offer performances during the holiday show.

Attendees will enjoy a variety of traditional and contemporary holiday songs. The show will also offer an appearance by Santa Claus.

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will host a canned food drive in conjunction with the Christmas Show. Attendees who donate a canned food item will be entered into a drawing for $50 Cassville Cash. Food donations will benefit the Cassville Community Food Pantry.

Advanced tickets, which cost $6 each, are available at the chamber office, Commerce Bank, First State Bank, Freedom Bank and Security Bank. Tickets purchased at the door will cost $8 each. Children 12 and under will be admitted at no cost.

General admission seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Table reservations are also available for both shows. Tables seat six to eight individuals. Seating is $15 per person and includes complimentary popcorn, a drink, pie and coffee. Reservations can be made at the chamber office.
