Ruby Lester Stanley, 95 of Seligman, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.
He was born July 30, 1916, in Busch, Ark., the son of James Leonard and Josephine (Call) Stanley. On March 11, 1939, he was united in marriage to Ersie Marie David, who preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 1973. In 1979, he married Ona Taylor, who also preceded him in death. Others preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Lynn Stanley; a daughter, Wanda Jean Stanley; and one sister, Bernice Tilley, of California.
Survivors include: three sons, Raymond Lester Stanley and his wife, Pat, of Seligman, Alvin Leon Stanley, of Seligman, and Neal James Stanley and his wife, Cleta, of Seligman; one daughter, Eldora Ann McCarty and her husband, Jim, of Farmington, Ark.; one sister, Cordie Forgey, of Rogers, Ark.; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.
He received his education at Egypt School near Busch, Ark., Seligman is where he spent most of his life. He was a long-time cattle farmer. Logging was also a part of his life. He was a member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Carroll Williamson conducted the services. Burial was at Gateway Cemetery, Gateway, Ark.
