Washburn man injured in crash on 90
A Washburn man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday on Highway 90 one and a half miles west of Washburn.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 10:30 a.m. when the driver of a 1999 Ford F250, Daniel M. Porter, 59, of Washburn, slid off the right side of the highway, struck an embankment and overturned.
Porter was taken by ambulance to St. John's Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.
* Two Barry County women were injured in a single-vehicle crash on Friday on Farm Road 1090 one mile south of Monett. The crash occurred at 11:10 p.m. when the driver of a 1993 Ford Escort, Jenna L. Catlin, 21, of Rocky Comfort, ran off the left side of the road and overturned. Catlin and a passenger in the vehicle, Jerica L. Keeney, 21, of Wheaton, were both taken to Cox Hospital South in Springfield with moderate injuries. Neither woman was wearing a seat belt.
* A Wheaton woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash in the early morning hours on Saturday on McDonald Road three miles west of Rocky Comfort. The crash occurred at 2:30 a.m. when the driver of a 1986 Chrysler Fifth Avenue, Richard B. Sanchez, 20, of Rocky Comfort, was fleeing a Barry County deputy and slid off the road, striking a tree and a fence. A passenger in the vehicle, Veronica N. Rey, 18, of Wheaton, was taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville with moderate injuries. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
* A Monett teen was injured last Friday in a two-vehicle wreck on Business 60 east of Monett. The wreck occurred at 3:40 p.m. when the driver of a 2002 Ford Explorer, Jean M. Aleshire, 55, of Monett, struck the back of a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Brooke K. Chrisman, 22, of Monett. Chrisman and a passenger in the Aleshire vehicle, Haley D. Aleshire, 15, of Monett, were both taken by private vehicles to Cox Monett Hospital with minor injuries. Chrisman was wearing a seat belt. Jean Aleshire and Haley Aleshire were not.
