Santa Claus is coming to Butterfield

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Get ready! Santa Claus is coming to the City of Butterfield this holiday season.

Butterfield Mayor Tony Cope said the city will once again host its annual Christmas Party with Santa from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Dec. 10.

The celebration will include activities, snacks, hot chocolate and gifts for all the children, and Santa Claus arriving on a big, red fire truck. Cope and other city officials are asking for donations to help make each child's visit a lasting memory. Cope hopes to be able to treat all children with a small gift, holiday candy, fruit, coloring book and crayons.

Those wishing to donate one or more of the items, or make a cash contribution, to be used toward the purchase of these items for children.

Contributions may be dropped off at Butterfield City Hall at 10601 N. Ash St. Butterfield, or mailed to: P.O. Box 235, Cassville, MO 65625. Arrangements may also be made for city officials to pick up donated items by calling 442-7975. Receipts for donations will be available on request.

Contributions should be turned in no later than Dec. 1.

For more information on the project, contact Tracy Anders, city clerk, or any member of the Butterfield City Council.
