Cub Scouts hold Soapbox Derby in Shell Knob
On Oct. 30, 15 Cub Scout Pack #76 members participated in a Soapbox Derby at the Shell Knob School. The Cub Scouts raced cars that they constructed with the help of their families and dens. Most of the cars were made with two by four boards using a basic T frame design. Each car was decorated with its own design and featured unique seats, wheels, steering and rope seatbelts. Jerry Bernsen constructed the ramps that were used to launch the cars. Several of the soapbox cars will be featured in the Cassville Christmas Parade on Dec. 3.
