Emergency management director to speak at meeting

David Compton, Barry County emergency management director, will offer information on disaster preparedness at the GFWC Silver Leaf Benefit Club meeting at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Cassville on Tuesday, Nov. 16. The meeting will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Compton will take questions from attendees. GFWC Silver Leaf Benefit Club's mission statement is to be dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. During the Joplin tornado recovery efforts, GFWC established a fund and adopted a Joplin Elementary School classroom. All community members are invited to attend the meeting on Nov. 16.
